1、 Preferred material for cabin body (shell+structure)
1. Galvanized square steel/rectangular steel pipe skeleton
Function: The "bone" of the spacecraft relies entirely on it for load-bearing, wind resistance, and earthquake resistance
Requirement: Hot dip galvanizing ≥ 80 μ m, rust proof for more than 10 years
Applicable: All essential structures for regular spacecraft

2. Aluminum/exterior wall panels
Advantages: Lightweight, high strength, rust free, weather resistant for 20 years+
Appearance: Available in matte, frosted, and metallic textures, with high aesthetic value
Suitable for: high-end spacecraft, cabin shells of internet famous homestays, coastal areas with high salt spray and high corrosion
3. Polyurethane (Class A fireproof)
Advantages: Integrated molding of insulation, sound insulation, fire prevention, and waterproofing
Common thickness: 100mm
Key: Flame retardant grade B1 or above must be selected, preferably grade A
Applicable: The vast majority of economical and standard spacecraft
4. Aviation aluminum honeycomb composite panel
Advantages: Ultra light, high strength, extremely high flatness, deformation resistance
Applicable: High end customized spacecraft, irregular cabin bodies
2、 Reliable materials specifically designed for roofs (canopies)
The roof is the most prone to water leakage and aging, and fiberglass is strictly prohibited.
1. Aluminum plate
Industry recognized as the most durable roof
Waterproof: Structural waterproof, almost leak proof
Weather resistance: Over 25 years without corrosion
Strong resistance to wind, snow, and hail
2. Tempered glass+aluminum alloy frame (sunroof/observation deck)
Only suitable for local lighting, not suitable for large-scale roof construction
Hollow Low-E tempered glass must be used for insulation and explosion prevention
3、 Thermal insulation core material (determining air conditioning cost and comfort)
Polyurethane rigid foam PU: the best insulation, commonly used
XPS extruded board: moisture resistant and stable
4、 Absolutely not recommended for cabin/roof materials
Ordinary fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP)
Fast aging, water leakage, lack of fire prevention and insulation, scrapped after 2-3 years
Single layer iron sheet/thin color steel
Not keeping warm, scorching in summer, freezing to death in winter, loud noise
Poor foam sandwich panel
Flammable, toxic in the event of fire, and of poor strength
PVC plastic tile
Easy to age, brittle, and easily lifted by strong winds
5、 One sentence summary (the most practical combination)
Regular spacecraft=galvanized steel frame+aluminum shell+aluminum roof+A-level fireproof insulation layer (polyurethane)
This configuration, which can be used normally for 15-20 years, has extremely low maintenance costs and will not suffer losses to the point of tears in the future.
